Born in Kingston SE & bred nearby, Dan’s upbringing was in a grape growing household. Many school holidays were spent working in the vines, with the interest eventually overtaking his Architectural studies. Three vintages for David O’Leary & Nick Walker in the Clare Valley was followed by nine years of wine-store management for Blackhearts & Sparrows in Melbourne. Dan returned home in 2022 to oversee Cellar Door for Anita’s diverse range of wines at Wangolina, where he enjoys wearing many hats. Having UK-based in-laws, he enjoys detouring nearly every passing flight through Europe’s wine regions to learn more about the old world, & where Australia sits comparatively.

Whilst having exposure to many facets & figures of the industry, Dan’s passion is wine communication. Learning the stories behind a wine, & conveying that to the consumer to feel empowered & emboldened on their wine discovery journey.
