Drip Irrigation workshops – getting the most out of your vineyard irrigation system

Natural Resources South East invites regional viticulturists using drip irrigation to attend two free workshops to be held in Coonawarra on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th June 2014.

Presenter Noel Johnston has had significant experience in presenting to Riverland and Adelaide Plains drip irrigators and will be visiting the region to discuss best management practices relating to this high efficiency irrigation system.

Tuesday 24th June – Drip Irrigation Maintenance

This workshop outlines preventative, as well as remedial maintenance with common principles for all irrigation systems. It has been specifically designed for drip irrigators as a step-by-step guide for total system care and if carried out on a regular basis it should give your irrigation system years of trouble free service.

Wednesday 25th June – Drip Evaluation (Auditing) Note: due to the logistics of a field-based practical, there is a limit of 15 attendees for this workshop.

This workshop demonstrates and explains the testing and calculating of field data for a drip system. The

workshop covers the evaluation of drip irrigation systems, what to measure, the equipment needed, measuring pressure and flow rate, drip system performance and calculating field data.
